- GP CARE will always be open after hour’s and public holidays.
- Your own GP is involved and will be doing sessions at GP CARE.
- During the day your GP will be available as always but on public holidays and after
hours his/her practice will always be open as GP CARE.
- Sometimes you will even find them working at GP CARE.
- This practice will not be open in normal working hours.
- GP CARE is a normal GP practice as you know it but will only function after hours.
- There will always be a dedicated doctor available at GP CARE.
- You will always be referred back to your own GP.
- Treatment notes will be faxed back to your own GP the next morning.
Background
There was a need for combined quality after hour’s GP service in Windhoek.
Negotiations with other Health Care providers was initiated in October 2006.
A partnership with Paramount Health Centre was established in January 2007.
The private Family Physicians of Windhoek combined forces to establish a unique after hour’s service called GP CARE.
• GP CARE opened on 2 April 2007.
